Yamaha’s YR5 took the market by storm! The successor to the YR3, from 1970, Yamaha produced a more sports orientated, faster, sleeker model. Additional Frame Modifications since the YR3 improved stiffness and road-holding no end, allowing the model to compete with even the more expensive super-bikes of the same era!

This fine machine is beautifully presented and prepared by our expert engineers. Whilst in our care, lots of work both mechanically and cosmetically has been carried out to achieve what you see today. A machine worthy of any collection - whilst having the capabilities to safely cruise the country roads!

We present this example on behalf of a customer of ours… - who wishes to pass the keys to a new rider who can really appreciate all that this 2 stroke demon can offer!

The engine, the heart of any machine is special to say the least. Yamaha’s specially formulated 180 twin crank-shaft eliminates almost all high frequency vibration, by design. This example has recently undergone a top-end rebuild with new internals to refresh its performance (In-House) Its engine has been professionally refinished in VHT, and polished accents to achieve a near new finish, New Yamaha Badges set the bike off beautifully. 

Carburettors have been stripped, ultrasonically cleaned and fully rebuilt in house, with overhaul kits and new internals - balanced and road tested to unleash all of its 36 HP!

The whole bike has received what we call a “Part-Renovation”, which is an extended service to all aspects of any classic vehicle - with some great aesthetic restoration built in too! The front forks, fully rebuilt with new seals and dust covers, new oil - Polished back to that OEM look. The Wheels… Cleaned and Polished with New Tyres and Tubes! Brake Backing plates polished, with new shoes installed front and rear - hubs dressed for maximum performance for miles to come!

The fuel tank - although showing some signs of age, has been professionally paint corrected and dressed for any meet-up or man-cave! The interior too, cleaned and phosphated for extra protection and longevity. Fuel Taps washed through with new fuel lines and clips installed. This bike is truly ready to hit the country roads!

Its electrics have been thoroughly tested through, with corrections, repairs and bulb replacements made where necessary to achieve a faultless electrical system. A new Moto-Batt Gel Battery will provide the new owner with long durations without charging and a maintenance free Electrical System.

This bike has been an absolute cracker to work with over the past few weeks. Now fully serviced with fresh oils throughout, and a full tank of petrol - This machine truly is ready to roam!

A comprehensive Safety Inspection has been carried in house - ensures each and every detail has been checked for safety and quality assurance.

Although a viewing is always recommended - we can provide a full video walkaround of the running machine through WhatsApp upon request. We can also arrange for the bike to be delivered at a cost of £1 per mile one way from Framlingham Area.
